About Me

I am a Ph.D. student in the NIRDS Lab, Department of Computer Science at Old Dominion University. With a strong background in Electronic and Telecommunication Engineering and industry experience in machine learning and software development, I bring both analytical depth and practical expertise. Motivated by curiosity and impact, I aim to push the boundaries of how data-driven insights and AI can shape smarter, more human-centered technologies. I am also open to Research and Development opportunities and Summer Internships for 2026, aligned with my focus areas.

Bio

Mr. Pasindu Sankalpa is a PhD student in the Web Science and Digital Libraries (WS-DL) Group at Old Dominion University, specializing in eye-tracking, data science, and machine learning. He earned his B.Sc. Engineering (Hons) degree in Electronic and Telecommunication Engineering from the University of Moratuwa, graduating with First-Class Honors. Alongside his academic journey, he gained professional experience in the tech industry as a Software Engineer at Axiata Digital Labs, where he worked on R&D initiatives and large-scale backend systems for digital platforms in the telecommunications sector. His research interests lie at the intersection of eye-tracking, machine learning, and data science, with a strong motivation to transform data into actionable insights and innovative solutions.
